Exploring International Relations and Economics. I’m drawn to interdisciplinary programs where I can study international relations and economics side by side—connecting political dynamics with financial systems to better understand how nations interact, compete, and cooperate. I’m especially interested in schools that combine rigorous economic analysis with a global, policy-oriented lens. My academic goals align with institutions that offer both theoretical grounding and practical experience in diplomacy, global markets, and international institutions, preparing me to navigate and influence complex global challenges. My interests align with:
Claremont McKenna College (International Relations and Financial Economics): Claremont McKenna’s interdisciplinary International Relations major, with its required government, economics, language, and study abroad components, aligns closely with my global focus and real-world diplomacy experience. Paired with the Financial Economics Sequence through the Robert Day School, this double major offers rigorous quantitative training and practical exposure to global markets—equipping me with both the theoretical and financial tools to understand and shape international systems.
Princeton University: I can apply economic principles, including international trade and finance, through the School of Public and International Affairs policy task forces addressing global economic dynamics.
Brown University: The open curriculum allows me to pursue a focused path combining the Department of Economics' quantitative rigor with the Watson Institute's concentration in Development Studies, enabling in-depth analysis of the economic dimensions of global development challenges.
Georgetown University: Its location in Washington, D.C., provides access to events hosted by the School of Foreign Service and the Department of Economics, allowing for direct engagement with policymakers and practitioners in international economics and relations.
University of Virginia: The Department of Politics' renowned faculty in political theory, particularly those affiliated with the Program on Political Philosophy, Policy, and Law, offers an intellectual environment for exploring the theoretical foundations of political and social thought.
William & Mary: Its emphasis on undergraduate research, particularly through programs like the Roy R. Charles Center for Academic Excellence, combined with the focus on civic engagement through the W&M Votes initiative and the Public Policy program, aligns with my desire to apply my knowledge to make a positive impact.

Embassy of Spain Partnership & National Essay Contest Leadership:
Founded and led the inaugural 2025 Bernardo de Gálvez Essay Contest, a national pilot program endorsed by the Embassy of Spain as an "outstanding contribution to Spain–U.S. relations."
Personally recognized by Ambassador of Spain Ángeles Moreno, who praised the initiative for “deepening historical understanding and appreciation of our shared heritage” and formally commended both the contest and my leadership for “fostering global awareness and meaningful dialogue among students.”
Secured full support from Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS), the nation's 9th largest school district, engaging over 86,000 students across grades 7–12.
Aligned the contest with the America250 initiative, contributing to the commemoration of the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence by highlighting Spain's pivotal role in the American Revolution.
Led all aspects of contest development, including the creation of the official website (langleyworldaffairs.org), authoring the foundational essay Finding Gálvez, outreach and organizing a formal awards ceremony hosted at the Embassy of Spain in Washington, D.C.
Fall 2025 Essay Contest: Alliances That Built America — The Gálvez–Liberty Essay Contest
Targeting over 86,000 Fairfax County Public Schools students in grades 7–12 to explore how Bernardo de Gálvez (leader) and the Statue of Liberty (symbol) embody the power of America’s alliances with Spain and France. In the run-up to America250, students will connect past to present through research and reflection, considering how alliances with Spain and France should inform U.S. leadership today.
Final contest details are currently in development, with partnership discussions underway with the Embassy of Spain and outreach to France.
